Nuages - Franco Luciani & Dario Acosta Teich

This is our Tango version of one of the most beautiful gypsy jazz pieces. "Nuages" (Clouds) is one of the best-known compositions by Django Reinhardt. He recorded at least thirteen versions of the tune, which is a jazz standard and a mainstay of the gypsy swing repertoire. English and French lyrics have been added to the piece which was originally an instrumental work. The title translated into English is "Clouds", but the adaptation with English lyrics is titled "It's the Bluest Kind of Blues". Wikipedia Buenos Aires - New York About Latin American Versions Collaborations Series: Those of us who come from Latin countries are used to adapting our customs and traditions to other cultures, but it’s not very often that it happens the other way around. Musicians, for example, feel very comfortable arranging songs from the Latin American repertoire in styles such as jazz, rock and pop. There is nothing wrong with that. But what if we take “international” classics and cover them in Latin formats? Latin American Versions is a weekly series of duets produced by the Argentine guitarist and composer Dario Acosta Teich in which Dario summons musicians from different parts of the world to transform jazz standards or international classics into Latin American versions. The goal of the series is to shine a contemporary light on the wealth of traditional rhythms from all over Latin America via platforms on which they be heard by broader audiences.

In my Life - Sietske Roscam Abbing & Dario Acosta Teich

This is our Bolero version of a beautiful classic by The Beatles. "In My Life" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1965 album Rubber Soul. It was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, who later disagreed over the extent of their respective contributions to the song. Lennon credited the harmony and bridge to McCartney, while McCartney claimed the entire musical structure. George Martin contributed the piano solo bridge, which was sped up to sound like a harpsichord. According to Lennon, "In My Life" was his "first real major piece of work" because it was the first time he penned personal lyrics about his own life. The original version of the lyrics was based on a bus route he used to take in Liverpool, naming various sites seen along the way, including Penny Lane and Strawberry Field. Lennon discarded this lyrical idea in favor of a more generalized meditation on his past. He and McCartney later revisited those original references with their respective songs "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane".
